Geotech Investigation:
  • Extensive vertical, horizontal, inclined drilling operations, both on-shore and offshore, with hydraulic and rotary drilling machines in all kinds of soil and rock
  • Field and laboratory testing as per IS standards including standard penetration test, vane shear test, test pits, density, index properties, compaction parameters, triaxial, direct shear, consolidation, sampling (undisturbed, split spoon, piston and core) etc
  • Testing for physical and chemical parameters for soil and water samples
  • Analysis, test results, sub-soil profile, report with graphical presentation along with recommendations

  • Physical tests - Direct shear, unconfined compression test, consolidation, triaxial shear, California bearing ratio, compaction, sieve analysis, hydrometer analysis, atterberg limits, shrinkage limits, differential free swell index, swelling pressure, swelling potential, permeability, etc
  • UTM for extensive tests on rock and non-destructive testing
  • Chemical tests- Anions, cations, pH, presence of bacteria, organic matter, total dissolved solids and all tests for potability of water using modern digital equipments

Corrosion and Aggressivity Survey for Cross Country Pipelines:

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).

SECON is a leading ISO and NABL certified civil engineering consultancy organization in the country, based in Bangalore and in existence for last 27 years with extensive experience of working all around the country for both domestic and multinational clients.

With the recent spurt in development of various mega infrastructure projects it is imperative for the developer, EPC contractor or as part of the routine maintenance to identify the buried utilities and map them. As part of the construction process excavation is one of the major basic activity involved for which the contractor needs to know well in advance presence of any buried utilities. As there is every possibility  of causing damage to  the underground utilities  which may result in a shut down (power, telecom, water and fuel lines if any) elsewhere and endanger lives.

In this direction SECON has taken a step forward in procuring this high end equipment from the  USA. The salient features of this equipment are as under.

Base unit – utility scan – Data acquisition system.
Antennas 400 MHz and 270 MHz.

400 MHz: Capable of identifying underground utilities upto a depth 0 to 4 Metres (0 to 12 feet) with high resolution capability of identifying objects < 5 cms (2 inches). Ideally suited for detection and mapping of utilities such as drums, underground storage tanks, concrete, metal and plastic pipes as well as Shallow Engineering and Environmental application.   

270 MHz: Capable of identifying underground utilities upto a depth 0 to 6 Metres (0 to 18 feet) with high resolution capability of identifying objects < 15 cms (6 inches). Suited for detection of deeper utility, Engineering and Geotechnical application.

NOTE : In addition to the utility detection this may also be used for detection of various soil layers.
